Mary Burke is CEO and Executive Producer at Public Dreams Ltd. 

With over 20 years of experience in the film and television industry, Mary launched Public Dreams Ltd in 2021 – a production company dedicated to working with the most imaginative creators from across the globe. 

While Senior Executive at the BFI, she has Executive Produced several outstanding British films including SAINT MAUD by Rose Glass,  Lucy Cohen’s BAFTA-nominated KINGDOM OF US and BAFTA-winning I AM NOT A WITCH written and directed by Rungano Nyoni. Burke also executive produced Sundance hit COLETTE starring Keira Knightley, directed by Wash Westmoreland and co-written by Rebecca Lenkiweicz as well as Idris Elba’s debut YARDIE. She executive produced ETERNAL BEAUTY and PHANTOM OF THE OPEN both directed by Craig Roberts released by SONY Pictures in 2022. Sundance Audience Award-winner BRIAN AND CHARLES is released by FOCUS FEATURES. 

Burke’s producer credits at Warp Films include BUNNY AND THE BULL, the 2009 feature debut from Paul King, who went on to direct Paddington in 2014; SUBMARINE the feature BAFTA and BIFA-winning debut of Richard Ayoade; Paul Wright’s FOR THOSE IN PERIL, which premiered in Critics’ Week at Cannes in 2013 and won two BAFTAs; BERBERIAN SOUND STUDIO, the critically acclaimed and multiple award-winning second feature from Peter Strickland.

She takes the spirit of independence, creative collaboration and love of audience-facing work with her into Public Dreams.
